General Production Worker - 1st Shift

This role supports shipping, receiving, and production by working as a floater on the manufacturing line. You will load materials onto the line, stack materials as they come off the line, perform visual quality inspections, cut tiles to size, and stack or palletize finished products. The position involves handling tiles that typically weigh around 2 pounds each, with some heavier pieces, and requires safe lifting practices up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Load materials onto the production line and ensure they are positioned correctly for processing.

• Stack materials as they come off the line in an organized and efficient manner.

• Perform thorough visual quality inspections on tiles and materials to ensure they meet established standards.

• Cut tiles to specified sizes using appropriate tools and equipment.

• Stack and palletize finished tiles safely and securely for storage or shipment.

• Handle tiles weighing approximately 2 pounds each, with occasional heavier tiles that may require team lifting for weights above 50 pounds.

• Operate production line and related machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

• Use hand tools and power tools to support cutting, finishing, and material handling tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of machine operation or production line experience.

• Experience in general production or manufacturing environments.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and participate in team lifts for heavier items.

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean but not climate controlled, so it can be warm during the summer months. You will work with fiberglass materials, and while some individuals may be sensitive to fiberglass, the company provides personal protective equipment, including coverage for arms and neck, to minimize irritation. Gloves, earplugs, and safety glasses are standard and provided. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, although most items, especially early on, are extremely light. The position operates on three primary shifts: 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with overtime extending to 3:00 p.m. as needed; 2nd shift from 2:50 p.m. to 12:50 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Friday; and 3rd shift from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday as needed for overtime. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of PPE, and consistent production workflow.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
