See our benefits summary below.Available Day Shift:9am - 5pm, Monday - FridayAvailable Afternoon Shifts: During the final stage of the interview process, you and your manager will confirm one of the following schedules.Noon to 8pm, Monday - Friday1pm to 9pm, Monday - Friday2pm to 10pm, Monday - Friday3pm to 11pm, Monday - Friday4pm to Midnight, Monday - FridayPOSITION SUMMARY:The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment, facilities, and grounds to support safe, efficient warehouse operations. This hands-on role works independently and as part of a team to minimize operational downtime, improve reliability, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in a manufacturing and agricultural environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, and warehouse equipment, vehicles, and facility systemsTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical (including basic 3‑phase), hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsSupport fabrication, welding, plumbing, carpentry, and minor construction or modification projects as neededMaintain maintenance records, preventative maintenance schedules, and parts inventorySafely operate and maintain tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, lifts, and other equipmentComplete facility and grounds upkeep tasks as needed (lighting, painting, snow removal, general repairs)Follow all safety guidelines, wear required PPE, equipment lockout/tagout, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirementsAssist with improvement projects that enhance safety, quality, productivity, or compliancePerforms other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in maintenance, welding, electrical, or related trades preferred2 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, or agricultural environment preferredWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsAbility to read basic blueprints and schematicsAbility to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate equipment issues clearlyForklift certification preferred; willingness to obtain required equipment certifications with company supportWillingness and ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the yearAbility to lift up to 70 lbs., work at heights, and perform physical tasks in an industrial environmentNote: Job responsibilities may change over time based on business needs.About Furst-McNess Company:For more than a century, Furst‑McNess Company has been a trusted leader in animal nutrition, delivering innovative feed, mineral, and management solutions to livestock producers across the United States.
