Diesel Fleet Mechanic/Technician

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Bauer's IT is currently looking for an experienced B-Tech Diesel Fleet Mechanic for the San Francisco location.

Qualifications:

• Diesel Mechanic must have complete working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differentials and other assemblies.
• Must have complete knowledge of how braking systems (hydraulic and air) work on a variety of vehicles.
• Must have complete working knowledge of HVAC systems on a variety of vehicles. (certification)
• Must have complete working knowledge of suspension, electronics, and air systems
• Must have full working knowledge of ADA vehicle operations
• Must have a B license or has committed to taking a class to be completed within a specified time frame to be agreed upon
• Must have 1 plus years of experience in the field
• Must have completion of advanced classes on all major vehicle models in the fleet, required to take 40 hours of online classes as directed per year.

Responsibilities:

• Use gauges, special tools, and specialized electronic equipment to diagnose mechanical failure or problems. Ability to use any maintenance/repair manual, parts catalog and maintenance software.
• Communicate with manufacturer representatives concerning repairs, parts and diagnostic equipment.
• Serve as team lead worker when assigned.
• Job requires mechanic to crawl under buses, stretch and lift heavy objects.
• Disassemble and perform partial or complete overhauls as necessary (Diesel, CNG and Gasoline combustion engines).
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
