Staff Accountant I

Accountant Position

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support Accounting Operations through process ownership, financial analysis, operational improvements, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is an individual contributor position responsible for managing end-to-end accounting processes, resolving complex issues, driving process improvements, and partnering with stakeholders to improve operational performance. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with analytical problem-solving abilities, process improvement experience, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage end-to-end accounting processes, projects, and operational workstreams
• Work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities, deliverables, and timelines
• Develop project plans, establish milestones, monitor progress, and ensure successful completion of assigned initiatives
• Perform financial and operational analysis to identify trends, risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex accounting and operational issues
• Drive process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to existing workflows and procedures
• Develop, monitor, and analyze operational metrics, KPIs, and performance measures
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding project status, issues, and recommendations
• Collaborate across departments to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance operational efficiency
• Share best practices and provide guidance, coaching, and training to peers and junior team members
• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to department performance objectives
• Influence operational practices by presenting solutions and partnering with stakeholders to implement improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting or finance experience
• Experience working in: Accounting Operations, Finance Operations, Transaction-processing environments, Similar accounting-focused operational roles
• Proven ability to independently manage projects and end-to-end business processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience resolving issues involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to prioritize work, manage deadlines, and deliver results with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
