This role oversees HR systems, process optimization, compliance, and reporting while ensuring data accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory alignment. The Associate Director partners closely with HR leadership, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and external vendors to support a growing workforce and evolving business needs. This role will oversee the HRIS Manager.This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week.Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Oversee HR system integrations, ongoing enhancements, and people data governance including defining platform standards and scalability requirements across HR technology platforms, ensuring accurate data entry, reliable internal and external data flows, system interfaces, data feeds, and reportingPlay a key role in several upcoming HR system implementations including, but not limited to, system design, configuration, data validation, integrations and dual maintenance Partner with Payroll, Finance, and IT to support system integrations, audits, and troubleshootingManage testing, documentation, and change management for system updates and releasesDesign, implement, and continuously improve core HR operational processes by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and a positive employee experienceBuild and maintain SOPs, user guides, and process documentation that enable the team to operate consistently and scale effectively as the organization growsLead creation, updates, and ongoing maintenance of HR policies and templates, ensuring alignment with employment laws and organizational practicesDrive quarterly and annual audits and reporting, including SOX audits, EEO-1 and other compliance reportingDirect the selection, delivery, and tracking of compliance training programs to ensure regulatory adherenceMonitor federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring HR practices and systems remain compliantOversee all immigration matters in collaboration with Legal and external counsel to ensure compliance and timely processingRequirementsRequires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experienceExperience in a high-growth company with a background in biotech in pre-commercial and commercial phases preferredPeople management experience of 2+ yearsSolid knowledge of Federal and State employment law and current practices and trends Demonstrated ability to drive high quality and productivity in HR Operations, ensuring consistency and accuracy of processes, data and systemsExtensive HRIS experience with implementation experience highly preferred Experience with EEO-1 and other compliance reportingAbility to exercise good judgment in confidential situationsExcellent interpersonal/influencing skills, with ability to effectively build relationships and leverage resources within the function and across the organizationReliable, self-motivated, team player capable of proactively managing day-to-day responsibilitiesAbility to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing prioritiesDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skillsProven mindset of proactive continuous improvementEfficient independent worker with ability to focus and drive for resultsStrong attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasksStrong commitment to ethical standardsProficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)The salary range for this position is commensurate with experienceViridian offers a comprehensive benefits package including:Competitive pay and stock options for all employeesMedical, dental, and vision insurance100% Paid Parental Leave Short- and long-term disability coverageLife, Travel and AD&D401(k) Company Match with immediate company vestEmployee Stock Purchase planGenerous vacation plan and paid company holiday shutdownsVarious fertility, mental, financial, and proactive physical health programsViridian Therapeutics, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination, harassment, or retaliation of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by Federal, State, and Local laws.
