Bookstore Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Acts as store manager during the absence of the store manager.
• Open and close the bookstore safely, including disarming and setting security alarm systems.
• Customer Service : Greet shoppers, answer questions, and help customers locate specific titles or sections.
• Cashier Duties: Handle cash management tasks, such as counting registers, balancing tills. Cash out customers
• Merchandising: Shelves, organize, and restock books by genre or author to keep the sales floor tidy.

• Backroom Support when needed : Sort incoming book donations, evaluate book conditions, and price items fairly.

• Monitor store cleanliness, safety standards, and visual merchandising.
• Communication: Friendly interpersonal skills to assist customers and work with team members.
• Help train new team members on store policies and register, pricing books and donations.
• Strong attention to detail for categorizing genres and tracking inventory accurately.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned and trained.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a passion for books, a major plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, exposed to extreme temperatures, noise, fumes, dust, etc.
