Join our Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies team where we create innovative technologies to diagnose and treat peripheral vascular disease. As an R&D Engineering Intern, your role is focused on driving the design, development, and integration of groundbreaking technologies. You will be part of a cross-functional team, providing opportunities to build relationships with professionals in a diverse range of fields. This role offers a unique chance to work on innovative technologies, gain end-to-end exposure to the product development cycle, and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and Testing : Assist in the design and development of medical devices, conducting feasibility studies, developing prototypes, and performing testing and validation.
• Problem-Solving and Compliance : Support investigations into failure modes, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, process development, quality, marketing, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution.
• Documentation and Reporting : Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to engineers and managers.

Required Qualifications

• Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028
• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering

• Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th – August 6th OR May 24th – August 13th

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes) Boston Scientific Corporate location
• Experience collaborating on an engineering project in school or in a professional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent problem solving, communication, and time management skills
• Biomedical or anatomy experience and/or aptitude
• Basic understanding of design controls and risk management within the medical device industry

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
