JOB DESCRIPTION: MACHINE OPERATOR 

Wise Staffing Group has immediate openings for Machine Operator 

• Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)
• Available Shifts:
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

POSITION SUMMARY

The Machine Operator Helper assists machine operators and performs entry-level and repetitive machine-operation duties. This hands-on industrial position involves material handling, positioning workpieces for processing, recording production information, identifying material or equipment issues, housekeeping, and assisting with quality inspections.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Securely position workpieces for processing, either manually or with a hoist or crane.
• Record information for processed workpieces.
• Mark and tag material for identification.
• Mark material after processing and properly store it for additional processing or shipping.
• Identify equipment and material problems and notify the machine operator.
• Clean work areas and lubricate equipment as required.
• Assist with quality-control inspections and perform in-process quality inspections.
• Occasionally tend machines to ensure proper operation.
• Count finished workpieces to determine whether product orders are complete.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Basic English reading and writing comprehension to understand picking tickets, drawings, safety information, policies, and instructions.
• Basic measuring skills, including the ability to read and convert between English and Metric systems.
• Basic arithmetic skills, including calculations and conversions involving decimals and fractions.
• Overhead crane experience is desired.
• Previous experience in construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related field is helpful.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position requires standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and communicating throughout a typical workday.
• Employees must be able to lift workpieces weighing up to 40 pounds, manually or by crane, move them to the work area, and properly position them for processing.

WORKING CONDITIONS & REQUIRED PPE

Working Environment: Employees will work in an open warehouse environment approximately 98% of the time. Working conditions may include extreme heat/cold, noise, vibration, oils, dust, fumes, metallic particles, and exposure to heavy machinery/industrial hazards.
