Let's accelerate medical innovation

At Power, we're making clinical trials easy to navigate for all patients.

Today, patients look to promising medical research when standard treatments have failed them.

Unfortunately, there is no single source of truth that patients can understand and trust. The status quo is a government run website which is written in complex medical jargon that is impossible for most people to navigate.

At the same time, clinical trials are the bottleneck on medical innovation—new medicine takes almost 10 years to test and over 86% of all clinical trials are delayed because they can't find enough patients. This is one of the biggest problems facing the life science industry.

Power is the easiest way for patients to access promising new studies. Thus helping more patients find treatments and speeding up the progress of medical research as we go.

The role

We're looking for a generalist to take on special projects across our product org.

Up until now, much of this work — the one-off analyses, the scrappy internal tooling, the deep-dives into a flow that isn't quite working — has been picked up off the side of various people's desks. We're now at a point where we have enough surface area that we'd benefit from someone whose entire job is to bounce around and parachute into whatever matters most.

This is a deliberately broad role. In a given month you might analyze data to identify a new product opportunity, build a system to support a growth or operational process, deep-dive into a specific feature or flow to figure out why it's underperforming, run a batch of user tests, or automate an outreach or internal process that's currently manual.

You'd report directly to a cofounder, take on high-leverage work across different systems in the product org on day one, and we'd expect the shape of the role to evolve as you find the places where you create the most leverage. If you're drawn to building a wide map of the business — rather than going deep on a single surface area, at least to start — this is a great fit.

Some of the problems we'll be working on

We don't believe in strict job requirements, but if these problems sound fun and familiar, you're probably well suited for this gig:

1. Analyze data to identify product opportunities: dig into our marketplace data to surface where we're leaving enrollment, retention, or efficiency on the table — and turn those findings into concrete product bets.
2. Build systems to support growth & operational processes: stand up the internal tooling, automations, and lightweight systems that let our growth & ops teams move faster without adding headcount.
3. Deep-dive into specific features & flows: take a flow that isn't converting the way it should — say, patient prescreening or site activation — and own the investigation end-to-end, from instrumentation to recommendation.
4. Run user testing: get directly in front of patients, nurses, and investigators to pressure-test what we're building, and feed what you learn back into the roadmap.
5. Automate outreach & internal systems: find the manual, repetitive work happening across the product org and replace it with something that scales.

About you

• You're a generalist at heart: you're energized by the idea of bouncing across very different problems, and you get up to speed in a new domain quickly.
• You're scrappy and high-agency. You're comfortable being handed an ambiguous problem with little structure, and you instinctively move toward shipping something rather than waiting for direction.
• You're technical enough to be dangerous — you can write your own queries to dig into data, and you're comfortable standing up lightweight systems & automations yourself.
• You translate what you find into action. Whether it's an analysis, a user-test readout, or a deep-dive, stakeholders leave with a clearer view of the world — and a clear next step — not a longer reading list.
• You can drive projects independently or work in a highly collaborative, x-functional manner. You naturally balance speed, craft, and business goals.

Nice to haves

• You have a personal connection to the space: much of our team has close family or friends who've interacted with clinical research from the patient perspective.
• You have a deep familiarity with marketplace businesses, clinical research, or health tech more broadly.
• You've been a founder in a past life, or have led larger product teams, and will be able to help us see around corners.
• You have some other 'spike' or unique strength that would round us out! We're always looking for complementary skills & experiences.
• You like to dive into the lit in your personal life — whether it be for sleep, nutrition, supplements, or something else entirely.
