Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology

Medsurg Skilled Registered Nurse Manager is looking for Medsurg skilled RNs for this MS/Onc unit. Required Skills / Certifications / Experience Minimum 2 years of experience Traveler experience: Will accept first‑time travelers Local staff accepted with rate differences Experience in inpatient setting required: Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Surgical drains, Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur‑evac), Nasal Cannula, Non‑invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac. Certifications: Travelers without current ONC certification accepted; BLS preferred. Charge nurse experience, OCN. Job Details Primarily medical surgical patients with oncology history Target nurse‑to‑patient ratio 1:6 Shift: Nights Contract length: 13‑26 weeks accepted RTO: 7 days max; if 48 hours, no overtime billed until after 48 hours Call requirement: Call required if called off a scheduled shift Float requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding in ED or other medical patient care locations Weekend requirement: Every other weekend required Contract staff will be expected to work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disasters Consolidation to centralized office may occur mid contract; may be preassigned to units as needed Patient Diagnoses General medical‑surgical diagnoses such as AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy – IV, PO, or injection Special Procedures / Unit Details Daily census 42; typical ratios may be higher during increased census Contract staff assigned equally alongside home unit staff to ensure patient coverage Contract staff expected to participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may need to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disasters May be required to float to inpatient holding in ED or other alternate medical patient care locations; shifts called out must have makeup shifts rescheduled Attendance to monthly staff meetings Unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR Unit orientation: 24 hours (2 shifts) Scrubs: Navy blue and white #J-18808-Ljbffr
