Senior Laboratory Technician

Job Summary The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas. Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment Manage inventory for required operating materials Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned Works under the direction of technical leaders Key Characteristics Excellent record-keeping and documentation Strong mathematical and scientific understanding Strong attention to detail Technical aptitude for operating scientific testing equipment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Required Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Skills in implementing process improvements Strong written and oral communication skills Problem-solving and analytical skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Preferred Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography Education & Experience - Required Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques Education & Experience - Preferred B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization Benefits Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance Starting Day 1!
