Make a meaningful impact by working as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) supporting a 6th grader in a leading educational environment. This contract opportunity involves providing specialized vision services at a well-regarded academy in the Atlanta area, with a manageable and rewarding caseload.
In this part-time role, you'll deliver vital educational support designed to help a single student with visual impairment reach their fullest academic potential. You'll coordinate closely with dedicated classroom teachers and staff, ensuring the student receives all necessary accommodations for a fully accessible learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, direct instruction to a 6th-grade student with visual impairment, as outlined in the student's IEP.
- Provide two 30-minute sessions each month on a consistent, part-time schedule.
- Work collaboratively with educational staff to guarantee classroom materials and activities are accessible.
- Offer expert consultation regarding assistive technology and accessibility strategies.
- Support ongoing compliance with IEP accommodations and services.
- Closely monitor student progress and communicate relevant updates to the broader education team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia PSC certification with appropriate endorsement for Vision Impairment/TVI.
- Experience creating and implementing accommodations for students with visual impairments.
