Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med Surg)

Location: Albany, GA 31701
Shift Timing: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Schedule: 48 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend
Contract Duration: 17 Weeks with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Travel (Radius rule 75 miles)

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) travel assignment in Albany, GA . The ideal candidate will have strong acute care experience, previous travel nursing experience, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment while delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical patients.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatments and discharge planning.
• Float to designated units based on staffing needs.
• Follow hospital policies and evidence-based nursing practices.

Skills:

• Experience with MEDITECH EMR.
• Ability to care for up to a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio .
• Comfortable floating to:
  • Orthopedic
  • Neuro
  • Oncology
  • Acute Care
  • Other designated Med Surg units

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

   

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical experience .
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required.

• AHA - BLS, NIHSS
