Travel CCU/ICU RN
Unit / Patient Population
- 24-bed CCU/ICU
- Typically 8–16 ICU patients + ~8 Stepdown patients daily
- Traveler must be comfortable taking both ICU and Stepdown assignments
- Ratios: 1:1–1:3
- Cerner EMR
Requirements
- 2+ years experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI
- Strong ICU experience with:
- Ventilators & trachs
- Titrating drips
- CRRT
- Balloon pumps
- Swan-Ganz
- Chest tubes
- Tube feeds
- DKA management
Patient Acuity / Procedures
- Ventilator-dependent critical care
- Sepsis
- ECMO
- CRRT
- Post-PCI/cardiac procedures
- Pulmonary embolism
- Post-thrombectomy & post-stroke patients
- Balloon pumps and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- No open thoracic cases
Schedule
- Days: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
- No more than every other weekend
- No call
- Holidays based on unit needs
- Block scheduling considered
- RTO requires manager approval
Floating
- Required to float within scope as needed
- May float to PCU, Med/Surg, and Tele
Equipment / Support
- Plum 360 IV pumps
- Omnicell
- Philips monitors
- CRRT, Arctic Sun, Balloon Pump, EKOS, Penumbra & pacers
- 24/7 Intensivist
- 24/7 dedicated RT
- On-site ICU midlevel providers
- Charge RN, CNA/PCA, phlebotomy, telemetry tech & HUC support
Orientation / Additional
- Facility orientation + 1–2 unit shifts
- Galaxy Blue scrubs
- Free parking
