Job Description As a Security Officer Credentialed Unarmed Patrol Detail in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Position Details Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Wed 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM, Thu 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM, Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM, Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM, Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM What You'll Do Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or agency partners by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through appropriate channels. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entrances, exits, common areas, and perimeter spaces, helping to deter unauthorized activity and policy violations. Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify permissions when required, and support orderly movement of people throughout the location in accordance with posted rules and directives. Assist with de‑escalation during resident and/or visitor interactions, provide clear directions, and communicate with supervisors and public sector representatives regarding security‑related concerns or unusual activity. Minimum Requirements A valid New York State Security Guard License is required. At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required. Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
