Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of recent RN experience License: Ohio license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Progressive care / Stepdown / PCU experience preferred First-time travelers accepted Description: This mixed-acuity unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions. Candidates should be comfortable working in a progressive care environment. Floating within the organization may be required as needed. Documentation system used is Epic. Medication systems include Pyxis, Accudose, and Omnicell. Communication follows the SBAR format. In-house provider support is available 24/7. Staff will be required to float to different units within the organization as needed. Weekend shifts will be required as part of the schedule. Pre-approved time off is available. Patient age groups include adults. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The unit handles patients with general chronic medical conditions. Candidates must complete fingerprinting as soon as the contract is signed. Two professional references are required, including one from a manager or someone in a formal leadership capacity. Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
