Pharmacy Technician

The Hampton University School of Pharmacy invites applications for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve in the position of Pharmacy Technician at HU Cares Pharmacy, an integrated healthcare model recently launched to meet the needs of our community.

Examples of duties include:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Deliver medications to patients' homes or healthcare facilities.
• Participate in community health events such as immunization drives and wellness clinics.
• Provide exceptional service to patients at the pharmacy counter and over the phone.
• Manage inventory tasks, including restocking medications and tracking supplies.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, privacy standards, and company procedures.

Typical qualifications include:

• More than 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
• In good standing with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and prescription processing.
• The successful candidate must be reliable, team-oriented, and committed to supporting healthcare access at Hampton University and the surrounding community.

Supplemental information includes:

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled).
• Must meet state pharmacy technician licensing or certification requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends.
