Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant provides clinical support in a Family Medicine outpatient setting, performing basic rooming, well child checks, wellness visits, immunizations, and procedures. The role also includes occasional front-office duties such as patient check-in/check-out, phone coverage, scheduling, managing patient messages, and supporting clinic flow. The position requires strong knowledge of healthcare terminology and proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records. This is a 13-week contract role with potential for permanent hire, designed for candidates with at least six months of experience or first-time Medical Assistants with required certifications.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic rooming of patients, including vital signs and patient preparation.
Conduct well child checks and wellness visits as directed.
Administer immunizations and assist with clinical procedures.
Manage in-basket tasks and complete required paperwork.
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
Provide phone coverage and respond to patient messages as needed.
Support clinic flow and assist with scheduling appointments.
Float within clinical scope to meet facility needs as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C) or Registered Medical Assistant (MA-R) certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of six months healthcare experience; first-time Medical Assistants accepted.
Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system.
Knowledge of healthcare terminology and adult outpatient clinic procedures.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working in family medicine or outpatient clinical settings.
Additional certifications or training relevant to medical assisting.

Special Considerations:

Locals only; candidate must be open to permanent hire after contract.
No weekend or on-call requirements.
Candidate must confirm availability for scheduled interview times.
Strict no call/no show policy disqualifies candidate from future positions.
Clinician may be required to float within skillset to meet facility needs.

Scheduling:

Four 10-hour day shifts per week, typically with Thursdays off but subject to change.
Day shift schedule with no weekend work required.
