Job Summary:
An ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is available in a healthcare facility located in Utica, New York. The role involves providing specialized critical care to various patient populations, including neuro, medical, trauma, and surgical patients. Candidates must have experience with advanced critical care equipment and procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 6:30 p.m. 7:00 a.m., minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license and all other active RN licenses. Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU, Surgical ICU (SICU), Cardiac Thoracic ICU (CTICU), trauma ICU, Medical ICU (MS ICU), or Neuro ICU. Up to date resume documenting ICU work experience, travel experience, and a drivers license with address matching demographics. Two years of travel experience required. Epic electronic medical record experience. RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at time of submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Four to five years of ICU experience. Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and Prismaflex, Ventriculostomy, Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and Therapeutic Hypothermia (TTM - Artic Sun) is highly preferred.
• Float: Floating to all units except Behavioral Health and Emergency Room (unless holding).
• Unit Specifics:
  • Beds: 42 total (East 20, West 22)
  • Patient populations include Neuro/Med, CTICU, and Trauma/Surgical patients with primary diagnoses such as strokes, sepsis, AMS, neuro intervention, respiratory failure, CHF, post-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, trauma, and major post-operative surgeries.
  • Specialty equipment used includes IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and TTM (Artic Sun).
