CRNA's – with OB experience! Administers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during obstetrical deliveries and procedures. Potentially administers anesthesia to all A.S.A. classes of patients. Will work in care team model but must be proficient to autonomously perform spinals, epidurals, and manage cesarean section and obstetric emergencies. 2,500-3,000 deliveries per year. Mix of two 12 hour shifts or 24 hour shift. Primarily weekends.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

People Provides leadership in the professional practice setting. Supports and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Delegates tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional manner. Identify patient problem and collaborates with the Anesthesia / Surgeon / Perioperative team in the selection of appropriate interventions (tasks). Service Conducts appropriate pre-anesthetic assessments, and document findings. In collaboration with the anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan of management, manages all aspects of anesthesia care to include preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures. Provides airway management and/or intubations for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospital. Anticipates and exceeds patients and customers’ expectations that meet all elements of the Henry Ford Experience. Identifies services and care improvement ideas and act on them to create excellent experience for patients. Demonstrates, supports, and assumes personal accountability for consistently upholding team members to the standards across the System and adhering to Henry Ford Health policies and procedures. Recognizes the unique contribution all health care team members contribute to the organization and encourages collaborative teamwork. Performs other related duties as assigned. GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with anesthesiologists and other health care providers. Minimum 2 years experience in obstetric anesthesia. Certifications/Licenses Required Clinical Privileges. State of Michigan RN License. BLS Certification. Required and maintains currency of minimum 2 years experience in obstetric anesthesia. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Frequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform duties. Work is performed in P1, Henry Ford Main’s new endoscopy suite. Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards. Driving may be required, dependent on specialty.
