Journeyman HVAC Service technician

We are hiring for Southeastern Wisconsin, Ideal Mechanical/Pieper Power is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Journeyman Technician to join our team. This is a Union position, with full benefits package, company stock purchase program, and company vehicle. The Journeyman Service technician is responsible for diagnosing, installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems and components in accordance with current codes and safety standards. This role troubleshoots HVAC issues, and makes necessary repairs to ensure minimal downtime and high-quality customer satisfaction. The position requires strong technical skills, planning ability, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. As such the following values guide our behaviors: A Servant's Heart -- Focus on the Needs of Others, Wisdom -- Insightful, Integrity -- Honesty and Trustworthy, Courage -- Decisive and Confident in Others, Humility -- Modest and Respectful, Passion -- Unfailing Dedication Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assemble, install, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, condensing units, rooftop units, boilers, air handlers and unit heaters, and all of the associated components of these systems Be able to diagnose, assemble, test, start-up and troubleshoot these systems in accordance with manufactures recommendations and regulations Operate commercial HVAC equipment to identify and resolve malfunctions effectively Review and interpret specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and execution sequence Ensure all completed work meets current local, state, and national codes Planning And Efficiency Coordinate and prepare necessary tools, equipment, and materials in advance to meet project timelines Schedule and sequence work efficiently to align with customer deadlines and project goals Manage time, tools, and materials efficiently to support cost-effective job execution Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to eliminate waste and increase productivity Collaboration, Communication, & Customer Satisfaction Work cooperatively with other trades, departments, and teams to support overall project completion Communicate project progress, delays, or exceptions clearly with team members and customers Ensure a high standard of workmanship and service to encourage repeat business and positive referrals Address customer concerns professionally and promptly to maintain strong working relationships Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task. Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention. Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents. Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed. Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel. Qualification And Requirements High School Diploma (or equivalent) required Journeyman Certificate Minimum 4 years pervious HVAC Service experience Willing to or currently is in Union Experience, Skill And Abilities Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to commercial HVAC trade Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of commercial system equipment and components Physical Requirements Ability to maintain a consistent workload that may involve significant physical manual labor. Projects may be inside or outside, making exposure to the elements possible. Travel to various construction sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.
