The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply and explore new opportunities.
• Analyze market trends and production requirements to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify material specifications and ensure timely procurement.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or lead times.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their application in procurement processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for procurement and inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application to supply chain optimization.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPSM).
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to identify trends and drive informed purchasing decisions.
