Operations Supervisor

This role offers a competitive starting salary of $126,585, based on your experience and qualifications. You will support the day‑to‑day operations of the Healy Plant and lead a dedicated operations team in Healy, Alaska. As an integral part of our forward‑thinking organization, you will play a key role in ensuring our energy systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and operational standards. About GVEA GVEA is an electric cooperative that maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and nine generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska‑Fairbanks, and all electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, which extends from Homer to Fairbanks. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Assist the Operations Manager with day‑to‑day operations activities relating to personnel performance, motivation, safety, environmental compliance, and training. Maintain the EAM maintenance management system, including reviewing work requests and issuing and monitoring the progress of preventive and corrective work orders. Assist in conducting near‑miss and accident investigations, communicate findings to work groups, and support safe and efficient plant operations. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement). Minimum of five years of operations experience in an industrial coal‑fired plant or related environment. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills. Experience with electric and mechanical utility systems. Experience with labor contract administration. Experience supervising contractors. Strong organizational and supervisory abilities. Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within thirty days of hire.
