Senior Accountant II - Wholesale AccountingThe Senior Accountant II - Wholesale Accounting executes accurate and timely transaction processing and executes settlement, reconciliation, and reporting activities across Vistra's diverse energy portfolio.Key Accountabilities:Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.Role Specific Accountabilities:Prepare and analyze settlement data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.Lead wholesale activities such as the end-to-end settlement lifecycle, including data validation, dispute resolution, invoice generation, and revenue/cost recognition across various transaction types.Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, contributing settlement insights to support business strategies and regulatory compliance.Participates in special projects as required.Supports compliance with the departments accounting governance framework.Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldExperience: 3+ years of experience in Accounting or related fieldExperience preferred in the Energy industry, but not requiredSkills:Experience with accounting and/or reporting systemsStrong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skillsProcess improvement orientedFundamental understanding of the accounting close processCore Competencies / Key Metrics:Business Acumen and Industry Insights: navigate and assess Vistra operations and the broader electricity and power generation environment.Technology and Process Acumen: holistic comprehension of end-to-end processes and associated enabling technologies.Data Analytics and Strategic Decision Support: harness the power of data and influence strategic decision making.Effective Communication and Continuous Improvement: support organizational transformation and foster a collaborative, transparent environment.Accounting Acumen: leverage accounting expertise for business activities with accuracy, precision, and timeliness.Job Family:AccountingCompany:Vistra Corporate Services CompanyLocations:Irving, Texas, Texas
