The Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching daily delivery routes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customers, and managing the performance and productivity of the delivery drivers.Overall, a Dispatch Supervisor overseeing delivery drivers at Empire Auto Parts should possess a combination of leadership, organizational, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, customer service, and flexibility skills to effectively manage the delivery process and ensure customer satisfaction.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDelivery DriversShuttle DriversDispatchersDuties/ResponsibilitiesSchedule and dispatch delivery drivers for daily routes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customersMonitor delivery driver performance and productivity, providing feedback and coaching as necessaryResponsible for all delivery and shuttle drivers at the local distribution centerEnsure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesMaintain accurate records of deliveries, driver schedules, and vehicle maintenanceCommunicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues or concernsResolve any issues or conflicts related to delivery schedules or driver performanceManage the day-to-day activities of the dispatch office and ensure effectivenessCollaborate with other departments, including sales and warehouse, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of productsOversee the accurate and timely submission of payroll activities, including and not limited to timekeeping, approvals of PTO, sick time, etc.Required Skills/AbilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years of experience in dispatching and supervising delivery driversKnowledge of aftermarket collision auto parts and the auto parts industryExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and dispatching softwareValid driver's license and a clean driving recordPersonal/Professional AttributesMust possess strong leadership skills to manage and guide the team of delivery drivers effectively. Must have the ability to motivate, train and coach the team to achieve optimal performanceHighly organized with excellent planning and scheduling skills. Must be able to coordinate and manage multiple deliveries, routes and drivers simultaneouslyExcellent problem-solving skills to address any issues or conflicts that arise during the delivery process. Must be able to think on their feet and make quick decisions to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfactionExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, delivery drivers, and other departments within the companyStrong attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping, timely deliveries, and compliance with safety regulationsStrong customer service skills to ensure that customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition. Must be able to handle customer complaints and inquiries in a professional and courteous mannerFlexible and adaptable to changes in delivery schedules, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances that may affect the delivery processPhysical RequirementsAble to move around the facility and warehouse to supervise delivery drivers, coordinate routes and oversee the delivery process.
