Clark Schaefer Hackett is looking for an Audit Staff II – Government Services to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This hybrid opportunity offers meaningful client work, hands-on experience, and the chance to develop specialized expertise within one of Ohio’s premier government audit practices.

Our Government Services professionals work with municipalities, schools, counties, special districts, and other public sector organizations whose services directly impact their communities. In this role, you’ll help clients strengthen accountability, improve operations, and make the most of public resources while developing the technical and professional skills needed for long-term success in public accounting.

As an Audit Staff II , you’ll participate in audits, reviews, and other assurance engagements for government entities and related organizations. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals while taking on increasing responsibility as your skills develop.

Other responsibilities include:

• Perform audit testing and analyze financial information
• Prepare accurate, organized, and well-supported workpapers
• Assist in developing audit conclusions and recommendations
• Work closely with senior team members throughout engagements
• Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues
• Expand your knowledge of government auditing standards, compliance requirements, and industry-specific issues
• Manage multiple priorities and complete assignments accurately and on schedule
• Demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment while demonstrating the firm’s mission, REAL Values, and The CSH Way

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• Internship experience, public accounting experience, or other relevant accounting experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach

Preferred qualifications include:

• Audit internship experience
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with governmental entities, the Auditor of State, or government audit engagements
• Exposure to construction, engineering, or public infrastructure organizations
• CPA eligibility or progress toward certification
