Senior Advisor Position
Serve as senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretaries on political-military strategic engagements and policy issues of national and international significance.
Coordinate the flow of information, meetings, and briefing materials to Bureau Principals, ensuring leadership is prepared for travel, interagency policy committees, and high-profile events.
Draft and review policy guidance, memoranda, speeches, congressional testimony, and talking points on political-military policy issues for use by the Assistant Secretary and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretaries.
Review documents, policy options, and recommendations prepared by Bureau staff for consistency with Department and Bureau policy positions prior to submission to Principals.
Direct and coordinate the work of Front Office staff (Special Assistant, Executive OMS, Staff Assistants), setting priorities and resolving administrative issues to ensure Principals are prepared for engagements.
