Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) : Correctional Healthcare
Location: Tutwiler, MS 38963
Setting: Corrections facility
Pay Range: $51.15 - $53.71 per hour
Schedule: 36 hours per week (day or night shifts depending on facility needs, rotating as required)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Candidate Type: Local candidates only – travel stipend not available

Requirements:

• Qualified applicants MUST have at least 2 years of experience as a RN
• Qualified applicants MUST have a valid RN license in the state of MS
• Must have experience executing medical orders, dispensing medications, and performing clinical procedures in a correctional setting
• Preferred: BLS certification, experience with inmate healthcare, familiarity with correctional policies and procedures
• Be willing to obtain state licensure if not already licensed

Responsibilities:
As a healthcare professional in a corrections facility, you will:

• Monitor inmate/resident medical conditions, including inpatient hospitalizations and early releases.
• Provide guidance, supervise, and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nurses and non-licensed medical staff.
• Prepare inmates/residents for examinations and assist physicians during sick call.
• Dispense medication and document as required by policies and procedures.
• Call Licensed Independent Providers for medication and treatment orders or emergencies.
• Examine and assess inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries, refer to appropriate healthcare facilities as needed.
• Perform emergency procedures and notify providers for treatment orders.
