Summary/ObjectiveEnsure the safe and timely flow of transportation for preschool age children while adhering to all local,state, and federal transportation regulations.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions.Maintain accurate record keepingMaintain current CDL physical and licenseAdhere to all local, state, and federal regulationsSubmit accurate and complete monthly transportation reportsDrive/monitor a Head Start bus adhering to all program safety regulations set forth by theprogram and the Department of TransportationParticipate in professional development, including but not limited to; staff meetings, monthlycenter staff meetings, and required training sessionsWork cooperatively with center level, administrative, and management staffAdjust work schedule to meet the needs of programProvides staff breaksEnsures children are properly securedReports concerns with monitor when/if issues ariseMaintains confidentialityParticipates in assigned meetings, events, and training as requiredEnsure that a minimum of 15 clock hours of allowable professional development is completedannually.Competencies1. The employee must occasionally lift ormove up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision,color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a regular part time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday with flexiblework hours and occasional Fridays with flexible work hours. In order to meet the needs of the agency,permanent or temporary changes and/or modifications to the schedule may occur as dictated bymanagement.TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-area travel may be expected uponnotice.Required Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma/General Education Degree, Excellent communication and record keeping skills.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience with driving/monitoring preschool age students.Additional Eligibility QualificationsValid Class C Commercial Driver’s License with a PS Endorsement within 60 days of employment.Approved CDL Physical Exam.Additional RequirementsValid Kentucky driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory background checks. Pass apre-employment drug test and random drug testing as required. State required minimum vehicle liabilityinsurance and uninsured motorist insurance.
