Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Department (L&D) in Folsom, California, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Family Birthing Center. The position involves providing specialized care for patients in labor and delivery, with a focus on high-quality neonatal and maternal support. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Folsom, California
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, every other weekend (EOW), with first to float
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: Certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Fetal Monitoring, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); valid license; minimum 1 year of Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience; prefer 3 years in this setting.
• Additional Qualifications: Experience with Electronic Medical Records (Cerner), comfort with neonatal resuscitation, and proficiency in titrating pitocin and insulin drips.
• Responsibilities: The RN must assist with deliveries, support neonatal stabilization, and manage respiratory equipment during labor and delivery. They are expected to work collaboratively with in-house obstetricians, neonatologists in-house 24/7, and anesthesia on call.
• Experience Requirements: No minimum experience specified beyond the necessary LDRP background.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Submission Requirements: Two neonatal or labor/delivery supervisor references at the time of submissionone within the last 12 months and one within the past 3 years. Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any organization associated with the organization within the last 12 months.
• Additional Information: Charge nurses or Nurse Shift Managers are scheduled for every shift. No Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are available; there is one OB technician scheduled per shift. The unit has in-house neonatologists 24/7 but not in-house anesthesiaon-call anesthesia with a 20-minute response time if patients require anesthetic support. The unit utilizes GE fetal monitors capable of recording maternal heart rhythm. Candidates must take ACLS certification, and for patients receiving general anesthesia, recovery occurs in the Main Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Cancellation Policy: The organization can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment or three shifts for shorter assignments. All other Sacramento facilities are included in floating requirements.
