Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: an Associate’s degree or higher, a passing score on the paraprofessional exam, 48 college credit hours, or a passing score on the WorkKeys test. Performance Responsibilities and Tasks Collaborate with the Reading Specialist regarding screening, data collection, and the proper use of interventions for struggling readers. Work with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts. Prepare intervention resources and materials. Attend reading program and curriculum training provided by the district. Screen and progress monitor students to establish appropriate reading-level placement. Maintain accurate student data records for those being served in the Response to Intervention (RTI) program. Participate in collaborative team meetings with teachers, reading specialists, and building principals to discuss student progress and program needs. Assist in maintaining the Reading Specialist’s resource room.
