Step into a rewarding role guiding students toward greater independence as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in a dynamic educational environment nearby Peabody, MA. This onsite opportunity spans the academic year from September 1, 2026, through June 14, 2027, and offers a full-time schedule of 32.5 hours per week (8:15 AM – 3:15 PM). You’ll collaborate with staff and make a measurable impact supporting K-12 students of diverse ages and abilities.

Your expertise will help foster a nurturing atmosphere where students can thrive—moving confidently within their communities and classroom settings. Each day brings meaningful opportunities to shape skills and provide individualized instruction based on student needs.

Qualifications:

• Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license required
• Experience supporting K-12 students with orientation and mobility skills preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
• Passion for working in a school-based environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group orientation and mobility instruction to students aged K-12
• Conduct assessments and develop tailored learning plans to aid student independence
• Collaborate closely with faculty, staff, and families to ensure student success
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain thorough records and progress reports
