Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients of all ages by using both standardized testing and observational methods to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
• Formulate individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that hone in on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
• Engage with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to create a unified approach to care.
• Provide education and tools to patients and families to support ongoing improvement beyond the therapy room.
• Contribute to inpatient assessments and therapy as needed, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of patient care.
• Keep thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with all relevant state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Commit to continuous personal and professional growth through educational opportunities and collaborative learning.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
