Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients of all ages by using both standardized testing and observational methods to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
- Formulate individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that hone in on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
- Engage with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to create a unified approach to care.
- Provide education and tools to patients and families to support ongoing improvement beyond the therapy room.
- Contribute to inpatient assessments and therapy as needed, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of patient care.
- Keep thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with all relevant state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Commit to continuous personal and professional growth through educational opportunities and collaborative learning.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in treatment methodologies for all age groups, especially regarding developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills conducive to effective communication with patients, their families, and fellow team members.
- Capability to tailor therapeutic techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical record systems and adhering to documentation practices.
