JOB SUMMARY: The Retail Lab Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting manufacturing process initiatives to ensure quality, safety, and technical excellence within retail labs. This role requires a solid foundation in in-store manufacturing operations, including equipment, processes, and tools, along with optical expertise and an understanding of customer experience. The position plays a key role in testing, quality assurance, and process improvement by coordinating activities and collaborating across functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in troubleshooting, with the ability to effectively communicate and partner with Procurement, Operations, Training, EHS, Lens and Product Centers of Excellence, vendors, and field teams. The role supports continuous improvement, operational documentation, training resources, field validation, and emerging business channels across the retail lab network.

GENERAL FUNCTION/ MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of retail manufacturing operations, products, processes, equipment, and testing procedures.
• Manage material supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper function.
• Support testing and validation of lab equipment, supplies, lenses and frames for in-store manufacturing readiness.
• Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of test and process equipment.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, logs, and data records as required.
• Analyze operational and quality data to identify trends, support decision making, and recommend improvement opportunities.
• Support best practice standards, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives for retail lab operations.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures and best practice documentation.
• Support training programs and maintain job aids, operational resources, and materials related to equipment operation, maintenance, and inspection processes.
• Support execution of field testing and validation activities for new equipment, products, and processes.
• Partner with vendors and procurement teams to maintain supply accuracy and resolve equipment issues.
• Support equipment inventory processes in collaboration with ROC and field partners.
• Provide direct support to LC stores by responding to inquiries and offering technical feedback.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4 years' experience in optical retail, quality manufacturing, and lab operations (including lenses and processes).
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
• Adaptability in navigating change within a complex and evolving organization.
• Experience supporting process improvement initiatives, workflow analysis, or operational standardization efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across multiple stakeholder groups and business functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
