Certified Nurse Midwife

Overview Our affiliate, UWH of the Carolinas, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join their prestigious Women's Health Care Center in Columbia, SC.. This position is ideal for a nurse midwife who thrives in a hospital environment, values collaborative care, and is committed to providing safe, patient-centered support throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. About Practice: Join a compassionate group who provide a team approach to patient care. Every member of our staff is focused on making the patient experience individualized and meaningful. This group of providers has been serving the Columbia metro area for 20 years with a solid reputation for top notch clinical care. Team Structure: The practice consists of 11 OB/GYN generalist physicians, 15 laborist physicians, and 7 advanced practice providers Hospital: Medical University of South Carolina Northeast Campus Hospital in Columbia. Support: Strong administrative staff, nurse, and medical assistants Position Highlights: Estimated Deliveries per Month: 10-20 deliveries Schedule: Midwife schedule will generally be Monday-Thursday from 7am-330pm Call Schedule: This position does not require call, nights, weekends or holidays shifts. Provide coverage on Labor & Delivery unit and perform deliveries while practice physicians are in OR. Perform obstetric triage and respond to urgent maternal concerns. Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians, nursing staff, and hospital personnel. Document patient care in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. Collaborate closely with other OB/GYN providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals when delivering care. Support continuity of care for established practice patients. Follow all practice protocols, hospital policies, and applicable professional standards. Compensation/Benefits Highlights: Competitive compensation (negotiable hourly rate, $65-$70 an hour) Paid time off CME reimbursement annually Comprehensive health, dental, and vision 401k with matching Company paid malpractice coverage Requirements: AMCB Certified Nurse-Midwife Graduate of a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) Master's degree in Nursing (MS/MSN) Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license CPR and NALS Certification Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain One year or more of full-time experience as certified nurse midwife is required Labor & Delivery experience preferred City/Location Highlights: Southern charm meets sophistication in Columbia.
