Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Shopping Center in Thousand Oaks, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through strong communication and customer service. - Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions according to site guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefront areas, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, assist with crowd and line management, and provide clear directions and support to guests and/or employees as needed.
- Support loss prevention awareness by observing daily activity, reporting suspicious behavior, and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
