The Patient Service Representative is responsible for correctly obtaining and entering patient information, patient scheduling, filing, managing electronic and phone messages, managing and tracking outgoing referrals, addressing patient balances and charge entry all within the electronic medical record (EMR). Additionally, the Patient Service Representative is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing mail, clerical inventory, copying, and answering a high volume of incoming calls from patients. This position will work with the providers, managers and staff to promote quality and cost effective daily operations. The Patient Service Representative will maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, their families, the public and co-workers. This position works collaboratively with all other staff to assist the patient and facilitate successful patient interaction with the practice team. This position reflects and carries forward the mission and goals of the practice both internally and throughout the community.Required QualificationsHigh School DiplomaDemonstrated knowledge of medical terminologyMinimum of 2 years experience in healthcareProven team player experienceDemonstrated experience with computer useDesirable QualificationsCertified Medical Assistant or healthcare related Associates DegreeDemonstrated competence interpersonal and intra professional relationsDemonstrated competence in acute care patient management/organizationDemonstrated commitment to collaboration with physician to individualize and enhance patient careDemonstrated Experience in medical billingKnowledge of Medent or other EMR systemsSalary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 Crouse Hospital
