Position: Dean Of Students Building Glenbard East Term 10-month, 200 working days Position Type Licensed Administrative Staff License Required Professional Educator License (registered in DuPage County) Endorsement as a high school administrator Salary Range $91,500 - $94,000 Benefits Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance Group term life insurance Long-term disability insurance Administrator required contribution to TRS/THIS 403(b) tax sheltered annuity plan Paid leave: 15 sick days and 3 personal days Professional association dues as approved by Superintendent Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Start Date 07/27/2026 Position Summary 10-month Administrator for the 2026-2027 school year assigned to Glenbard East H.S. Qualifications Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement as a General Administration, and/or Principal Prior teaching and administrator experience Dynamic leadership qualities that build positive relationships with both students and staff Good communications skills (both verbal and written) Successful completion of ISBE Teacher Evaluator Training and Modules, preferred Knowledge and practices as it relates to supporting (all) students' ability to learn Bilingual preferred. Reports To Direct report to the Assistant Principal for Student Services Essential Duties and Responsibilities Living a Mission and Vision Focused on Results The dean works with the staff and community to build a shared mission, and vision of high expectations that ensure all students are on the path to college and/or career readiness and hold staff accountable for results. Leading and Managing Systems Change The dean will create and implement systems to ensure a safe, orderly, and productive environment for student and adult learning for the purpose of achieving school and district improvement targets. Improving Teaching and Learning The dean works with the school staff and community to implement a research-based framework for effective teaching and learning that is refined continuously to improve instruction for all students. Building and Maintaining Collaborative Relationships The dean creates a collaborative school community where the school staff, students, families, and community interact regularly and share ownership for the success of the school. Leading with Integrity and Professionalism The dean works with the school staff and community to create a positive learning environment by ensuring equity, fulfilling professional responsibilities with honesty and integrity, and modeling professional behavior. Creating and Sustaining a Culture of High Expectations The dean works with staff and community to build a culture of high expectations and aspirations for every student by setting clear staff and student expectations for positive learning behaviors and by focusing on student's social-emotional learning. Knowledge and Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media. Ability to write professional communications. Ability to present information effectively and to respond to questions from individuals and groups Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community members Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form Ability to complete mathematical operations and apply concepts of basic mathematics Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to maintain current job skills as directed, especially in technology-related activities Ability to perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The pace of work tasks would be considered as fast. Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
