BrainWorks is currently seeking a Digital Trust & AI Governance Leader who will help shape the policies, governance, and strategic decision-making that allow one of the nation's most recognized consumer brands to embrace innovation while protecting customer trust. Reporting directly to the Head of Cybersecurity, this role serves as the bridge between cybersecurity, privacy, legal, technology, and the business. You'll help leaders confidently answer questions like: Should we deploy this AI capability? What level of risk are we accepting? How do we balance innovation with privacy and regulatory obligations? What governance needs to exist before we scale? Rather than operating as a traditional compliance function, you'll become one of the organization's trusted advisors—helping executive leadership establish practical frameworks that enable technology teams to move quickly while making thoughtful, risk-informed decisions. Areas You'll Influence Responsible AI. Help establish practical governance that allows the organization to confidently adopt artificial intelligence while balancing security, privacy, ethics, regulatory expectations, and business value. Enterprise Decision Making. Partner with senior leadership to define how technology risk is evaluated, accepted, escalated, and communicated across the enterprise. Privacy & Digital Trust. Create scalable governance models that strengthen customer trust while supporting evolving privacy regulations, data stewardship, and responsible business practices. Enterprise Risk. Build practical frameworks that integrate cybersecurity, technology, privacy, vendor, and AI risks into a cohesive enterprise risk strategy. Cross-Functional Leadership. Work closely with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Data, Legal, HR, and executive leadership to embed governance into business decisions without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Building Capability. Help establish a modern Digital Trust function that grows alongside the organization's expanding cybersecurity program. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic leadership, enterprise governance expertise, and the ability to influence business decisions in rapidly evolving technology environments. We're looking for someone who has: 12–15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, governance, enterprise risk, privacy, digital trust, or related technology leadership roles. Demonstrated experience developing or leading enterprise governance programs spanning cybersecurity, privacy, technology risk, AI governance, or regulatory compliance. Experience partnering directly with executive leadership to influence enterprise technology strategy, business decisions, and organizational change. Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles and the ability to balance business objectives with appropriate risk management. Experience establishing governance frameworks, policies, standards, or operating models that scale across large or complex organizations. Working knowledge of emerging AI technologies, AI governance principles, and the cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory considerations surrounding enterprise AI adoption. Experience collaborating across Technology, Product, Engineering, Data, Legal, Privacy, and other cross-functional business teams. Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business recommendations. A collaborative, relationship-driven leadership style with demonstrated success influencing stakeholders without direct authority. A builder's mindset with experience creating new programs, processes, or organizational capabilities rather than simply maintaining mature environments. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Location: Office-based with a hybrid schedule (5 days onsite per week). Relocation: Relocation assistance is available for candidates who are willing to move to California. In alignment with California’s pay transparency and fair hiring practices, the target annual base salary range for this position is $155,000 – $220,000 + bonus and potential equity. The final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including (but not limited to) relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and work location. This position is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package provided by the hiring employer, which may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other employee programs.
