Job Title: Director of Emergency Services Job Type: Full Time Salary Range: $145K - $157K/Year with full suite of benefits Schedule: Mon-Fri, Days Incentive Bonus of Up To 17.5% Job Summary The Director of Emergency Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Services department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and efficient department operations. Oversees staffing, patient flow, clinical standards, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, service growth, budgeting, and resource management. Partners with physicians, administration, and interdisciplinary teams to drive quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, operational excellence, and organizational growth. Major Responsibilities Quality & Clinical Operations Directs nursing practice and overall Emergency Services operations while ensuring adherence to clinical standards and evidence-based practices. Leads initiatives to improve patient safety, quality outcomes, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. Monitors clinical benchmarks, performance metrics, accreditations, and designations; implements improvement strategies as needed. Ensures proper maintenance, availability, and regulatory compliance of department equipment. Oversees patient throughput, patient flow, volume forecasting, admissions, discharges, and care coordination. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and nursing standards to meet patient and family care needs. Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and ensures staffing assignments align with patient acuity and required clinical competencies. Patient Experience & Service Provides leadership to achieve and sustain exceptional patient and family experiences. Promotes accountability for consistent, compassionate, and high-quality patient interactions. Reviews patient feedback and satisfaction metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Develop and implements strategies to improve customer service and patient satisfaction. Collaborates with patient experience leaders and subject matter experts to implement evidence-based service practices. Builds a culture aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values. Promotes employee engagement, recognition, professional development, and retention. Identifies training and development needs and provides coaching, feedback, and performance support. Leads recruitment, development, engagement, and retention of qualified Emergency Services staff. Ensures appropriate staffing and placement of qualified personnel to meet operational and patient care requirements. Growth & Strategic Development Collaborates with physicians and administrative leadership to enhance existing services and develop new service offerings. Identifies opportunities for department expansion, new programs, technology implementation, and service-line development. Supports strategies that improve market differentiation, stakeholder engagement, patient volume, and organizational growth. Finance & Resource Management Participates in the annual budgeting process, including revenue and expense forecasting, staffing, supplies, and equipment requirements. Monitors department financial performance identifies budget variances and trends, and implements corrective actions. Manages labor utilization, position control, scheduling, productivity, staffing levels, and premium pay. Ensures appropriate staffing levels to support safe, efficient patient care. Manages operating expenses and identifies opportunities for supply, equipment, and operational cost savings. Other Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Trauma leadership experience — Must have served as a director (or equivalent leadership role) in a Level I or Level II trauma center Bachelor's degree in nursing Required Master's Degree Preferred 3+ years applicable acute care leadership experience required 5+ years applicable Emergency Services experience required #J-18808-Ljbffr
