Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a critical access, Level III trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in the ICU with floating to Med Surg based on facility needs
• ICU patient ratios of 1:1-2, with 1:4-5 ratios when floating to Med Surg
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to sister facilities within the health system may be required based on skill set
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• OR RN license required
• At least 1 year of ICU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
• Experience with IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and arterial line management required
• Ventilator management and BiPAP/CPAP care experience required
• Experience interpreting ABGs and managing respiratory failure required
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 25 staffed beds
• Provide direct patient care in the ICU with occasional floating to Med Surg based on unit needs
• Scrubs provided for ICU/Critical Care areas, any scrub color accepted
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront prior to consideration to avoid delays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Candidates should not contact facility staff directly regarding this position
