Position Summary

The Lake Area Free Clinic Dental Clinic is seeking a General Dentist with a passion for patient care and driven by a desire to serve in a public health capacity. As a Non-Profit Safety Net Clinic, the opportunity exists to make a positive difference in the health status and lives of individuals by providing basic dentistry to vulnerable adults of Waukesha County.

The dentist is responsible for providing and ensuring preventative and restorative dental care that is consistent with accepted professional standards. This part-time position is two days per week, preferably Tuesday & Thursdays. 

Position is part time. LAFC-DC is a seven-operatory clinic with digital x-ray, digital panoramic x-ray and Eagle Soft dental software.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Embrace LAFC Mission and culture while providing excellent customer service

· Positively represents LAFC-DC in the community

· Provide high quality general and comprehensive dentistry services including evaluation, treatment

and referral

· Assess treatment planning options and discuss with patient

· Provide oral health education to patients

· In collaboration with management, train, evaluate and supervise dental clinical staff, including

hygienist(s) and assistants

· Coordinates dental services with other dental and medical services

· Maintain accurate, legible, and complete patient dental records

· Provide leadership and direction to clinical support staff in all areas of patient treatment

· Actively participate in provider and staff meetings

· Resolve patient issues in accordance with LAFC policies and procedures, healthcare regulations and

dental board standards

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Doctor of Dentistry
• Graduate of a dental school accredited by the American Dental Association
• Commission on Dental Accreditation required
• Licensed by the State of Wisconsin to practice Dentistry
• DEA registration

· Experience in public health and working with diverse populations.

· Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, not required

· Knowledge of dental software
