Category Manager Med/Surg (Anesthesia)

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of medical and surgical agreements, shape contracting strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and lead negotiations to reduce costs, boost efficiency, and ensure reliable access to products that advance patient care. Responsibilities Manage a high complexity portfolio of medical and surgical agreements. Conduct product and market assessments and market research for assigned categories. Develop contracting strategies that will deliver unique value to support individual members, supply networks, academic medical centers, and customers and clients in non-health care markets. Manage the competitive bid process by negotiating favorable terms and conditions. Implement new programmatic offerings while maintaining practical knowledge of the health care industry, market dynamics, and new technology. Develop and manage relationships with members, suppliers, and alliances to ensure satisfaction through effective, timely communication and problem resolution. Effectively navigate market volatility and supply disruptions to consistently deliver portfolio performance and meet member needs. Co-Chair the Respiratory, Critical Care, Anesthesia council. Qualifications Relevant degree preferred. 2 or more years of relevant experience required. Healthcare and supply chain operations preferred. Financially savvy with experience working with expense and revenue budgets preferred. Effective communicator with the ability to develop and present insights, reports, and collateral to diverse audiences. Experience with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management strongly preferred. Excellent Microsoft Office and Outlook skills as well as written communication and verbal presentation skills preferred. Based in Irving, TX, this hybrid role includes three days per week in the office. Willingness to travel is required. Estimated Hiring Range: The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $135,400.00. This position is also incentive eligible.
