Industrial Electrician

Overview Electrician installs, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment, electrical wiring, laboratory equipment, motors, heating devices, and other hospital electrical apparatus. Location: Stanford Health Care What you will do Perform maintenance and required testing on the emergency power supply system. Install and maintain electrical wiring, switch gears, fuses, lighting fixtures, heating devices, motors, and other hospital electrical apparatuses, changing existing locations and conditions in compliance with national and local codes and licensing practices. Install new electrical and allied equipment; install new laboratory equipment upon request (e.g., incubating or sterilizing equipment). Repair, maintain, or build special laboratory equipment. Check all lighting in and around Stanford Health Care buildings on a regular basis. Turn off systems for energy conservation. Repair equipment such as patient beds, exhaust fans, fire doors, patient call lights and pillow speaker units, intercom systems, parking lot auto gates and lights, alarm systems, etc. Replace fuses, breakers, and other protective devices while maintaining knowledge of their functions. Replace light bulbs as needed and/or make necessary repairs on various types of electrical cords; clean fixtures on a regular basis. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent. One (1) to three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to adapt to and deal with change and ambiguity. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility. Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and repair. Knowledge of fundamentals of electricity and electronics as related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, electronic solid‑state devices, circuits, wiring, and equipment in industrial stations and plants. Knowledge of Arc Flash Hazard procedures and NFPA 70E codes and regulations for electrical safety in the workplace. Knowledge of Tag‑out/lock‑out procedures. Licenses and Certifications CADL – California Driver’s License, valid and in state. Compensation Base pay scale: generally starting at $49.35 – $55.58 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
