If you have experience pulling cable, terminating CAT5e/CAT6, and working in commercial environments, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with long-term career advancement potential.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Cable Technician, you'll play a key role in installing and supporting structured cabling infrastructure for commercial voice, data, security, and life safety systems.

Daily Responsibilities:

Pull, route, and install CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling through:

• J-hooks
• Conduit
• Cable trays
• Drop ceilings

Terminate copper cabling into:

• RJ45 connectors
• Keystone jacks
• Patch panels

Perform high-volume terminations using:

• T568A wiring standards
• T568B wiring standards

Rack and stack network equipment in MDF and IDF rooms

Bundle, dress, and organize cable runs using Velcro and approved methods

Label cable runs according to project drawings and TIA/EIA standards

Read and follow blueprints, floor plans, and installation documentation

Work safely on commercial job sites using ladders, lifts, and power tools

Required QualificationsMust-Have Skills:

• 6+ months of commercial cabling experience
• Experience with CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A installations
• Ability to terminate and punch down copper cabling
• Knowledge of RJ45 connectors, keystone jacks, and patch panels
• Understanding of T568A and T568B color codes
• Experience working in commercial construction environments
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards

Preferred Qualifications:

• MDF/IDF room experience
• Rack-and-stack experience
• Low-voltage, security, or life safety system experience
• OSHA 10 Certification
• Experience reading construction drawings and cabling schedules

Candidates should be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, above ceilings, and in active construction environments while following all job-site safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
