Duties

• Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, resizing, and repairing garments with precision and care.
• Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to achieve high-quality finishes on diverse fabric materials.
• Operate pressing machines and press garments to ensure crisp, professional presentation.
• Assist customers by understanding their tailoring needs, offering expert advice on garment fit and fabric care.
• Construct garments from scratch based on specifications, ensuring proper garment construction and stitching standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace with well-functioning sewing equipment and pressing tools.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in clothing alterations, garment sewing, or tailoring within a fashion retail environment or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of fabric materials, stitching techniques, and garment construction principles.
• Proficiency in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and press operation tools.
• Skilled in hand sewing for detailed repairs and finishing touches.
• Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production processes.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly communicate alteration options and timelines.
• Basic math skills for measuring fabrics and calculating adjustments accurately.
