Job Title

RN – Emergency Room / Med Surg

Location

Sabetha, KS | Critical Access Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days (0500–1700) | Expected 36 hours/week | Weekend rotation required (every 3rd weekend)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across all patient units, including Emergency Room and Med Surg, within a Critical Access Hospital setting
• Manage inpatient census (typically 3–5 patients per shift) and collaborate with the nursing team to divide the inpatient load appropriately
• Triage and care for Emergency Room patients, with responsibility shared among the nursing team as needed
• Work alongside LPNs and CNAs as part of a small, close-knit nursing team; RN licensure and independent clinical judgment are essential
• Utilize Cerner EMR for all documentation and patient records
• Adhere to infection control policies, including masking requirements during flu season if flu vaccine is declined

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with verifiable Emergency Room and Med Surg experience (both must be reflected in work history at time of submission)
• BLS required – must be AHA-issued
• ACLS required – must be AHA-issued
• PALS required – must be AHA-issued
• NRP required – must be AHA-issued
• TNCC required
• All certifications must be current and active at time of submission — pending certifications will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Critical Access or small rural hospital environment
• Comfort working in a cross-functional role covering both ER and inpatient Med Surg units
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Ability to work effectively in a small team setting with variable staffing configurations
