The Position:

This position is awaiting contract award.

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II - Avionics/Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical systems, wiring networks, and advanced avionics suites. 

In this role, you will combine a solid background in aircraft electrical theory with broader mechanical skills to restore airframe and powerplant systems to optimal mission readiness. 

As a Tier II Mechanic, you will be expected to prioritize shifting workloads to hit strict project timelines, provide technical data inputs for engineering modifications, and occasionally lead field teams through complex maintenance actions. You will also hold peer-review authority to inspect and sign off on work performed by Mechanic I and II team members. 

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft electrical systems, wiring harnesses, avionics components, and interconnected electrical networks of moderate difficulty. 
• Apply technical knowledge to diagnose malfunctions and repair broader aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical assemblies. 
• Formulate and provide technical data inputs for Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC) and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) reports, and assist in recommending changes to Modification Work Orders (MWO). 
• Lead maintenance teams through complex, integrated electrical tasks, prioritize floor workloads, and exercise authorized quality assurance tracking to inspect and sign off on Mechanic I and II peer work. 
• Interpret and apply complex technical publications, electrical schematics, engineering blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer manuals to solve advanced technical issues. 
• Safely operate specialized avionics test equipment, automated test panels, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and basic sheet metal tools (brakes, shears) for integration tasks. 
• Document maintenance actions accurately by making official entries in aircraft logs and maintenance records under minimal supervision. 

Qualifications:

• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
• Advanced knowledge of aircraft electrical theory, wiring repair, circuit troubleshooting, and avionics systems integration. 
• Combined technical experience in general airframe maintenance, powerplant troubleshooting, and mechanical component replacement. 
• Demonstrated mastery of specialized electronics test equipment alongside precision mechanical tools like micrometers and torque wrenches. 
• Exceptional ability to read and interpret complex electrical diagrams, blueprints, aircraft logs, and technical data sheets. 
• Proven ability to manage schedules on assigned projects, prioritize shifting tasks under pressure, and mentor junior technicians on technical tasks.
