Junior Sous Chef

SCOPE OF JOB The scope of this role is to assist the Sous Chef and the Executive Chef while supervising the kitchen team. The Junior Sous Chef is responsible for managing and organizing all requirements to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all kitchen activities, in accordance with the standards of operating procedures. REPORTS TO Executive Chef MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Determine food inventory stocking, storing, and ordering needs Supervise and motivate all kitchen stations and levels Create and execute high‑quality menu items as per recipe cards In the absence of the Executive Chef, direct the food preparation process of all sections ensuring all food is prepared with the highest quality, timely and consistently Inspect and report to Executive Chef, all kitchen areas for appropriate maintenance to ensure a safe work environment Ensure HACCP and Health & Safety policies and procedures are implemented and maintained Always follow standards of operating procedures Attend job‑specific trainings to further improve skills & knowledge Attend team briefings and communication meetings KEY REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Fluent in Greek and English Leadership qualities Commercially astute Exceptional organizational skills Interpersonal and communication skills BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS Approachable Team Player Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure environment Attention to detail Assertive yet flexible Hardworking Creative, innovative thinking LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE At least 4 years’ experience in a similar position Culinary Degree for the relevant position Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) BENEFITS 21 days paid annual leave 13th salary and provident fund 5 working days per week from Monday to Sunday Free meal while on duty 15% discount on company brands (Pizza Express, Marzano, Columbia Beach, La Boca, Columbia Steak House, Pokeloha, Columbia Confectionery, Columbia Sun, Columbia Pier, Henrys, Columbia Burgers+More, Columbia Beach Resort, House & Garden) Training and development opportunities Career advancement opportunities All applications will be treated with the strictest confidence.
