Director, Accounting Advisory
Our client, a high-growth professional services firm, is seeking an Advisory Director to lead complex accounting and transaction-related engagements. 

Location:
Bay Area, CA. This position offers a flexible work environment and is mostly remote with periodic in-person collaboration.

Job Description:
This role will partner closely with client leadership teams to address technical accounting, financial reporting, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong Big 4 public accounting or advisory experience, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to lead teams while driving high impact results. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead advisory engagements focused on transactions, financial reporting, and complex accounting matters
• Provide guidance on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives
• Review financial statements and external reporting deliverables for accuracy and compliance
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and analytical insights to support business decisions
• Design and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
• Serve as a key liaison between client management, auditors, and other stakeholders
• Manage client relationships and identify opportunities for additional advisory support
• Lead and mentor team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional development
• Contribute to business growth initiatives, including recruiting and practice development
• Serve as a subject matter expert across technical accounting areas

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred
• 8+ years of experience in Big 4 public accounting, audit, or advisory roles (Big 4 experience is required)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience leading client engagements and managing multiple projects
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
• Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in contributing to firm growth
• Willingness to travel as needed
